What Does a Website Actually Cost in Rockland County?

Every local business owner asks the same first question, and almost nobody in this industry answers it straight: what does a website cost?

The reason for the dodging is that the honest answer is "it depends" — and that sounds evasive. So instead of a number we can't responsibly print, here's the thing that actually helps: what the price is made of, and which parts of it you should be interrogating.

Why Quotes Vary So Wildly

Two quotes for "a website" can differ by an order of magnitude and both be legitimate, because they're describing different objects.

One is a template with your logo dropped in, your text pasted into the placeholder blocks, and a monthly fee attached to a platform you don't control. The other is a site structured around what you actually sell, written from scratch, coded to load fast, and handed to you as something you own.

Neither is dishonest. But they aren't comparable, and most owners are comparing them as though they were.

The Four Things You're Actually Paying For

Strategy. What pages exist, what each one is for, and what someone is supposed to do next. This is the part that determines whether the site produces enquiries or just exists. It is also the part most cheap builds skip entirely.

Copy. Someone has to write it. If the quote doesn't mention copywriting, the plan is that you'll write it, and the project will stall for three months while you don't.

Design and build. The visible part. Also where speed, mobile behaviour and accessibility get decided — invisibly, and permanently.

Setup. Domain, hosting, SSL, analytics, Search Console, and getting the thing live without downtime. Small line item, easy to leave out of a quote, annoying to discover later.

Where the Real Money Hides

The build price is the number people compare. The ongoing cost is the one that decides what you spend over five years.

Ask any prospective builder three questions:

- What do I own at the end — the code, the content, the domain? - What is the monthly cost, and what specifically does it cover? - If I leave, what can I take with me?

If the answer to the last one is "nothing," you're not buying a website. You're renting one, and the rent doesn't stop.

What We Do

We build custom, we write the copy, we set up the technical side, and you own it. We also show you a working prototype of your homepage before you pay anything, which removes the part of this decision that makes owners nervous — committing money to a description of a thing rather than the thing.

Our average from kickoff to launch is twelve days. Our fastest was six.

The Only Cost Comparison That Matters

Not build price against build price. Total cost of ownership against what the site brings in. A cheap site that no one finds and no one contacts is the most expensive option on the table, and it's usually the one that looked like a bargain.

If you want a straight answer for your specific situation, ask us. We'll tell you what it involves, and if the honest answer is that you don't need what we do, we'll tell you that too.
